SHAFF - Swimming in Reservoirs, Working With Water Companies

Sheffield Adventure Film Festival SHAFF presents an evening of knowledge sharing on talking to landowners for wild swimmers and other water users alike.

Despite Yorkshire Water forbidding it and actively trying to deter us, many thousands of us swim in their 120+ reservoirs. Whether or not we have permission to swim is somewhat irrelevant. The focus now is on how best to promote safe and responsible use of open water, as the popularity of outdoor swimming continues to rise. How can we persuade Yorkshire Water to work with swimmers, not against us? Four swimmers have been in positive dialogue with the water company over the past few years. This is a chance to meet them, hear about what they’re working on and what they hope to achieve.
