Introduction to Wild Swimming - Curbar

  • Hope Valley, England United Kingdom (map)

Designed for new wild swimmers as well as those who’ve already started but would like more knowledge to extend their wild swimming journey safely.

In this full day workshop we will cover:

• The benefits of wild swimming;
• Where to swim and the different types of swim locations and experiences;
• Common myths and misconceptions about wild swimming;
• How to swim safely including how to identify and assess risks;
• Environmental considerations of outdoor swimming;
• Equipment. What you’re likely to need (or not) to enjoy your dip.

This session isn’t about how to swim fast or far, it’s about how to enjoy the water in the way that’s right for you. Whilst there is a structure to the session there will be lots of opportunity to discuss and ask questions within the group.

We’ll spend the morning going through the theory before we head out for a walk and swim to put everything into practice in the afternoon.

£85pp. Water shoes, neoprene gloves, full write up of the session and refreshments included. Please bring a packed lunch. Wetsuits available to hire.
